Profile of the Artist.

Stubborn, Crazy, Determined, A Believer, A Worker, Creative, Friendly, Trusting!
Who am I? Around nine years ago I had an accident that was to change my whole life. It meant a whole new way of living- both physically and mentally. During the period of recovery I turned to craft work to help combat the pain and the need to keep my mind focused.
It was during this period of rehabilitation that friends encouraged both my Christian walk and my creative abilities that was to lead to a whole new lifestyle.
I moved to the Waikato to find a new beginning and my own identity. I started working with the idea of combining wood and glass together to make ornate boxes but that wasn’t successful. During this time I had more surgery and was unable to use machinery but I still had the glass and decided to try mosaics Jan’s way –cut glass shapes glued and grouted to rocks.
With my Christian belief that there is a time and purpose to everything I stepped out into the art world head on. Within months I was exhibiting at the Ellerslie Flower Show and came home with a Bronze Award and never looked back. I was winner of the National Fieldays best site in my division and winner of the Putaruru Garden Art section

Moving on from there I started using my wood work skills to create my own wooden frames so I could design interior pictures using the glass to make New Zealand landscapes as well as decorated mirrors, using mainly New Zealand native birds plants and flowers. All my designs are inspired by what I see around me whether created in a contemporary art style or a more traditional art form.
My art is continuing to evolve with the introduction to my designs of balls, pedestals, pots and moulded 4D plinths .
Creating colour coordinated or theme designs areas for both indoors or outdoors is a major feature of many of my creations.
